Brighton Wrestlers enjoyed a handful of events this past week

 

Adrian Invite - Womens

 

#2 ranked Sabrina Nauss (GVSU) went undefeated at Adrian College this past Sunday.  Her finals match was electric as she pinned Beach World Champion, Elle Bammarito from Kings University, who is also a Michigan native from our rival Hartland. 

 

Sabrina has a tough dual this week against powerhouse North Central College at home.

 

Michigan State University Open

 

Mason Schrader (Central Michigan University) started his college season in East Lansing last Saturday. His only loss on the day came in the semi's to Chance McLane of Arizona State.  After the loss, Mason bounced back with a win against two former Michigan Wrestler's Aiden Davis (Dundee/Bucknell) and Darius Marines (DCC/Michigan State).

 

Zak Knapp (GVSU) competed in the Freshman/Sophomore Division at 174 pounds earning a 6th place finish. The match of the day was in round two, defeating #2 seed Christopher Sanchez of Kent State. 

 

Trine Invitational

 

Travis Richardson (Heidelberg) finished the day 5-1.  After an open round bye, Travis lost to defending NAIA Champion Jerekel from Indiana Tech University.  He then went on a run, ripping off 5 straight wins including 2 techs, a pin and a major, before matching out for the consolation finals, essentially tied for third.

 

Aidan House (Southwest Michigan College) went 0-2 on the day at 184 pounds.

 

Heidelberg vs. John Carroll University

 

Travis Richardson (Heidelberg) earned a technical fall 17-2 at 165.  Although the home team lost the dual. 

 

The University of the Cumberlands vs. Midway

 

Greyson Stevens (The University of the Cumberlands) earned a 5-0 win over Ernest Lauvert Jr. at 197 while UOC earned a 33-8 Win.
