The 2025 Grappler Fall Classic saw a very large group of Brighton Wrestlers compete in the largest GFC in history!!!
Leading the way was our newest DAWG Alexis Lazar going 4-0 on the day Pinning Shepard of Ohio at 2:44 on the big stage in the finals. Alexis was dominant in her Brighton Debut and her final GFC. Certainly, we’re happy to see her in the Black and Orange this season!
The only other placer in the event was Ryana Richardson who earned 4th place in the Women’s Elite Division. After making her way to the Semi Finals, she was teched rather quickly by eventual runner up Smith from Florida. She bounced back with a quick technical of her own over Quirk from Illinois before dropping the third-place bout in a reverse decision from earlier in the bracket.
Other stand out athletes included:
Kaden Tindall who frustrated every opponent on the day. After Dropping a tight match to Macintosh of Florida, Kaden rattled off three impressive wins including a 6-4 over Clarkston’s Nathan Carter. Kaden was dominant in those three matches and a ton of fun to watch. Going to be a huge season for the oldest Tindle…
Drake Pollins followed his Teammate Kaden’s path to an early loss followed by three straight wins. Drake’s goal was to stick to fundamentals for this event and carry into his finals season with Brighton. The game plan paid off and he was composed and in every match. Very Fun to watch.
Lastly, Landon Bermooser is one of our incoming freshmen who was eager to get his first high school level matches. In his opening match, Landon was pretty nervous in the first period making some rookie mistakes. But as the match progressed, he was able to settle in and compete. While he lost 2 matches, the coaches were all impressed with how he performed. 106 is going to be a tough weight this year and Landon is up to the task.
