The 3rd ranked Bulldog wrestling team has released their Varsity, Varsity B, and JV Schedules for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.

 

The Dogs, who finished as Division 1 State Runners-Up last year after advancing all the way to the State Championship match, will once again be tested throughout the year leading up to the MHSAA post-season in February.

 

The season starts out with a bang as Coach Roy Hall and the #2 ranked team Davison Cardinals will come to the Dog Pound for a Friday night home opener on December 7th.

 

Additional home events include Alumni Night on December 19th against Rockford & Linden, a KLAA home quad against Novi & Howell on January 9th, and the always tough Manning Vieau Memorial Duals on December 22nd.

 

Throughout the season the Dogs will compete in individual or team competion against 17 of the other 19 current top 10 ranked teams from Division 1 and Division 2 in Michigan, including dual meets against the returning Division 2 and 3 State champions Lowell and Dundee on January 25th.

 

In addition to competing against the best in Michigan, there are three big out of state tests included.  

 

On December 15th Brighton travels to Lansing for the 1st Annual Grappler Gold Invitational which includes some of Michigan's top teams, as well as out of state schools including the returning Indiana State Champions Brownsburg.

 

A trip to Toledo, Ohio is set for January 18-19 as the Dogs will compete at the 45 team Maumee Bay Classic in Oregon Clay High School, which is headlined by nationally ranked Elyria High School.

 

Finally, on January 25th in Lowell, the Dogs will have the opportunity to square off with nationally ranked Cincinatti LaSalle, Ohio.

 

The team post-season kicks off February 7th with Team Districts and will wrap up February 23rd in Kalamazoo with the Team State Finals and the Individual Finals the following weekend in Detroit's Ford Field.

 

The Junior Varsity schedule is as challenging as ever with 6 Varsity B tournaments.
